Scurvy Fire Pirates
Fire on the Mountain Jam
This is Chris checking in after a wonderful weekend performing and teaching at Mountain Jam V. Great music, amazing people, and a beautiful location made our third year at Mountain jam as unforgettable as the last two. On Friday night Shilly Shally roamed the mountainside as swashbuckling pirates, leading up to a wonderful performance spinning to the sounds of Gov’t Mule. On Saturday Shilly-Shally had the honor of wearing the International Peace Belt in a mini performance in the Awareness Village. Immediately afterwards the troupe taught the first of two workshops with the second being on Sunday. Over 70 people attended the workshops on Saturday and Sunday to give the Flow Arts a try. We even found some more local spinners to connect with which is always a plus. Saturday Night gave way to our best performances of the weekend where we debuted our new Bright Red Jumpsuits, the newest costumes in the Shilly Shally Wardrobe. That night we had a crowd 30 feet thick around our fire circle as we spun late into the night. Sunday came oh to soon and as things were coming to a close SSFA had one last performance to the Allman Brothers Band. Decked out in the Shilly Schwilly costumes we wrapped things up with a bang and then got ready to head home from a fantastic weekend at Hunter Mountain.
Shilly Shally Fire Arts would like to thank the following for an awesome weekend: First and foremost we need to thank our safeties Shane Chichester, Aubrey Meyers, Glen and Joe Brown for being such a huge help. We couldn’t have pulled this off without you guys! Big Thanks to Melissa from Woodstock Wellness our contact for the weekend and the person who got us involved with the International Peace Belt. Amber from WDST gets a huge thanks for being so supportive of what we do and taking a chance on a little known fire troupe 3 years ago and a thank you goes out to all the people who worked to set Mountain Jam up, WDST, and Warren Haynes for putting together such an awesome event!
See you on the Mountain next year!
